Introducing Australian Military Bank
We love our proposed new name and logo and hope you do too. Read on to find out more about how Australian Military Bank was developed.
First, we listened
Your feedback is important to us. That’s why we’ve conducted extensive research including member focus groups and surveys over the past months.
The results were clear, when compared with the alternatives, you told us Australian Military Bank was “modern and fresh”, “inclusive of all 3 services”, was “positive and patriotic” and most importantly, that “Defence members would be proud to be a part of the name”.
Our name explained
Having a name that speaks for itself was a driving factor in selecting Australian Military Bank for our future. To sum it up, we’re Australian, we serve the Military (Army, Navy and RAAF) and we’re becoming a bank.
A little of the old and a little of the new
Whilst we look forward to our future as Australian Military Bank, we’re proud of our past as ADCU. Retaining key elements of our name and logo has been an important way for us to retain our heritage as Australia’s longest serving banking institution dedicated to Defence.
With this is mind, we’ve given our logo a face lift. By including a shield in our new logo we’ve symbolised the principles of Australian Military Bank to uphold strength, security and protection.
Colours of the ADF
We represent all services within the Australian Defence Force and have strived to display this in our new logo. Did you notice the colours in our logo are inspired by the Australian Defence Force Ensign Flag? The dark blue of the RAN, the red of the Australian Army and the light blue of the RAAF.
Our existing icon has transformed into a new shape. What you see in this shape may differ from person to person. Some of our members suggested the shield was symbolic of the Military and was protecting their money.
Will you be AMB?
No. Although we used to be known as ADCU we don’t intend to shorten our name to AMB as its meaning will be lost.
